Hotel Chocolat

Hotel Chocolat has been a favourite of ours from last year. We believe once you have quality chocolate nothing compares to it. Hotel Chocolat do new products that change with the seasons and they never lose their rich quality. This company was created by Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris. They worked hard to create chocolate that was exciting again. Their exquisite flavours are made from chocolate with a higher cocoa content and less milk. This creates a more satisfying flavour on the tongue, They are so amazing with their chocolate making that although we never liked dark chocolate previously, we tasted theirs and it was amazing. Such stunning flavours they put together means we are addicted and they have made chocolate enjoyable again. It's a luxury. Hotel Chocolate change their ranges with the seasons too. Easter, Summer, Winter and Christmas.Let us show you some of the items we have bought since last year.

Hotel Chocolat now sells The Velvetiser which comes with two ceramic cups as shown in the photograph. It comes with a selection of flavour of hot chocolate to try.                                                                  The flavours are: Dark 70%,
Salted Caramel
Milky 50%
Hazelnut
Dark 100% Honduras
You pour one sachet onto milk in the velvetiser, put the lid on and switch it on with the touch of the button. The Velvetiser gives the smoothest hot chocolate we have ever tasted. The way it works is it heats the milk up to a drinkable warm temperature - So say goodbye to those burn-the-tongue moments! To be honest we thought the Velvetiser was a gimmick when we first heard about it. We thought what difference can this make compared to making a hot chocolate with hot milk and powder or powder and hot water? All we can say is, you can taste the difference the first time you use it. The Velvetiser mixes the chocolate flakes with the milk to perfection, The chocolate flakes melt and blends to perfection. Every cup is a hug in a mug. Instant calm, Instant luxury and instant satisfaction. We wished we got this last year in winter as we got Hotel Chocolat The Grand Advent Calendar. Inside we got sachets of hot chocolate to try. We can honestly say buying The Velvetiser is a game changer. We will be purchasing The Grand Advent Calendar this year again for us all.

This Rocky Road to caramel had one side of the egg very thick made of milk chocolate with crispy pieces.Inside the egg was filled with various chocolates too! This retails at £29.00
The other side of this egg was scrumptious caramel chocolate. It melted in our mouth into a caramel heaven.
This You Crack Me Up egg  is caramel and milk chocolate

This is very high quality and trust us when we say once you have one of these, it satisfies you, so you don't feel let down like with a generic one. The rich cocoa melts at room temperature in your mouth. You really can taste the quality and care these eggs have been created with.

HAPPY EASTER SLEEKSTER

This Happy Easter Sleekster was absolutely delicious. The eggs were filled with a variety of praline, alcohol and soft filling. Champagne, Strawberries and cream, Simnel cake and others. A great treat to enjoy and share with others. (Or hide them and treat yourself BeauTies!) This retailed at £22.95

MOTHERS DAY
My girls gifted me with this lovely box of chocolates for Mother's Day this year. It was such a beautiful box and really brightened the day up.
This little box meant I didn't have to share them. It was such a lovely surprise and the colour really made me smile. I enjoyed these while watching the cinema new release of The Invisible Man movie on SKY. I was desperate to see the movie and due to lockdown I got to see it on my television in the comfort of my own home. The chocolates were delicious as always.

EVERYDAY STOCK AT HOTEL CHOCOLAT

Julia moved in with her Nan in lockdown to look after her. Her Nan had Alzheimer's and Julia was alone with her for a few weeks making sure she was well and safe. During this time I sent Julia a few surprise boxes. Hotel Chocolat boxes are such a wonderful mix of flavours and Julia enjoyed her time alone to relax and enjoy these. Its fair to say we are now Hotel Chocolat lovers- well and truly devoted to them.
The box above was an 'Everything Sleekster' which retails at £22.95. I actually sent a lot of these to friends in lockdown too, around the U.K This allowed people to feel extra special and loved.
Bringing happiness through giving these special chocolates being delivered by courier was such a special moment. I couldn't see loved ones or speak to them but the joy of receiving these meant the world. It was more than just chocolate. It gave moments of joy and a positive taste experience in a difficult time in peoples lives. The least I could do was to share the joy.

LUCKY DIP BOX

Julia surprised us when she was at her Nans  with a giant Lucky Dip box. This was so joyous to receive.
I dont know the cost of this as it was a gift and all I know from Julia is that it was the biggest lucky dip box they did. This blew our minds.
Champagne and Pink Champagne truffles. Two boxes of these in one box was incredible. Also shown is the Treacle Tarts which were my ultimate favourite.
The Treacle Tart chocolate that was a wonderful mix of crispy, treacle flavour and soft caramel.
Treacle Tart, Raspberry Smoothie, Florentine Isabelle, Cherry Deluxe. These were also in the massive Lucky Dip box. These items were sold separately in the store too  at the time of purchase.

SUMMARY OF HOTEL CHOCOLAT
As you can read from our experiences above, we get a lot of pleasure from eating chocolates from Hotel Chocolat. The higher coca content means they deliver far more flavour and gives a whole new taste experience with every bite. Their wonderful creations that change with the seasons, means we are always excited what will appear the following season. They have made chocolate a thing of pleasure again and make our tastebuds dance. We will be purchasing their Grand Advents again this year. It offers a luxury experience like chocolate should be. I've cut down completely on generic craving for chocolate now and save my money just to have these. These feel very special to get as a gift. These moments where you get alone time to savour the chocolate melt in your mouth before the shot of flavour in what they have created, We highly recommend Hotel Chocolat to treat yourself.

A Haunting Memoir: Part one

My story starts when I was a young child. I was born in Scotland but moved down to Somerset as a child. I loved it so much. I loved the flowers and the conkers I’d collect on the way to school. I remember all the frogs in my garden and how I'd name them. I moved twice down in England. The houses were always large and I’d get the rooms mixed up, trying to remember where to turn to find my bedroom. I would visit London where my relatives stayed. I loved the vibe of London. One visit to my Nans, we walked down to Church Street market and seeing so many interesting people. The one man with dreadlocks holding a large ghetto blaster on his shoulder playing Bob Marley passed me. I couldn’t get enough of the place. One stall had toys on it. I bought some wooden blocks and a handheld electronic mini piano. They were perfect mementos to remember my visit. When we returned to Scotland I unpacked and placed my electronic piano on my bedside table. It had colours on the notes and London Bridge

L’Oréal Revitalift

L’Oréal are an established company that have delivered quality beauty products for over a century . L’Oréal is a brand I can trust. I worked with L’Oréal by trying the Revitalift range of products over six months. This range offers more than the skincare I was using. I invite you to read more about Revitalift and my journey with this range. ~ Collette.      Revitalift is a range of products I had seen advertised and heard amazing feedback from others. I was thrilled when L’Oréal invited me to try these products over the lockdown months. I am in my 40’s and I struggled to find skincare that is effective. Lockdown has taken it’s toll on my skin. I have new wrinkles from tears and frustration like a lot of people. Firstly I tried their Revitalift Laser Renewal moisturiser. This was lovely and light on the skin. This moisturiser is the first moisturiser I used. It has a subtle colour to it that leaves a gorgeous glow on the skin. Revitalift Laser Renew is light on the skin. It gives skin a

Beauty Ties creator: Collette

Hello BeauTies, I have always loved art from an early age. Taking photographs and drawing or painting. I have designed two wedding dresses for friends who got them made up. I've adored beauty products since I had my Victoria Plum nail polish and lip balm from Avon as a child. I love beauty products and how they make me feel. The colours and scents. I get so much joy from trying new products and photographing them. I skipped the afternoon one day at school and ended up in a movie. That was unexpected and it fuelled my passion for creativity and how things are made. It was an experience I will never forget. My name was taken by someone in the crew to go in the credits but when I saw the movie I was not on the credits, sadly. I will never forget the joy I got from being in it. Long days from early mornings and late finishes. The photo from the press shoot hangs in my hallway. Julia urged me to hang it up rather than feel ashamed of it. So it’s hanging up in my home for the first tim
