BeautyTies Interview: Rachel Lorin

        Rachel Lorin is the epitome of a woman who has it all. Her Instagram boasts 60k followers and her music is a mix of rock and pop. Rachel sang the national anthem at the US Open at just 12 years old and has also done modelling. Rachel took time out of her busy schedule to talk to BeautyTies. Welcome to the BeautyTies blog Rachel. How are you feeling today? Hi! I’m feeling really good :) lots of exciting things going on that I’m looking forward to. Thank you so much for having me.  What age did you realise you wanted to be a singer?  I would say I was the loudest baby in the hospital when I was born haha but I started singing around the age of 9 in a chorus along with modeling and acting. Professionally, I started singing at the age of 13 and put everything else on pause with the acceptance and support of my parents.  Bad Dreams is an incredible song. BeautyTies interview with artist : Nicole Sheppard

Artist Nicole Sheppard is an art graduate from Manchester University. Nicole was chosen to showcase her work for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2022 show. What made Art the chosen subject for you at Uni? I’ve always preferred learning in a hands-on approach through making, sculpting, bending objects together, so art seemed like the only choice for me. What inspires your artwork? My work explores the relationship between human, non-human and non-material   matter and its relationship with our everyday life. I am inspired by theories of New-Materialism and Post-Humanism. What is your favourite piece and what is the story behind it? I don’t have one stand out favourite. But the work I am most proud of would be Intra-action:I and Intra-action:II due to their material composition and the skills I acquired to make them.
